我們早前參加了長春社的植樹日，利用從花卉展覽回收得來的木材製作紀念品。紀念品刻著是次活動種植的本地樹種—梅葉冬青。除了長春社的植樹日外，我們更於同日參加了地球之友的「酷森林」活動。地球之友去年種植的樹苗被颱風山竹破壞了過半，所以機構今年於同一地點再次舉辦植樹日。到達植樹地點後我們發現去年種植的樹苗只比今年的高五厘米左右，可想而知我們日常看到比人要高的樹木需要以十數年計的時光才能長成。

We recently participated in a tree planting activity for the Conservancy Association, and produced souvenirs with wood recycled from the Hong Kong Flower Show. They are laser engraved with the local species planted in this activity, plum-leaved holly. On the same day, we also joined Friends of the Earth (HK) in their Tree Planting Challenge. Half of the saplings planted last year were destroyed by the Super Typhoon Mangkhut, therefore the tree planting was held at the same location this time. At the site, we observed the saplings planted last year only grew about 5 cm in height. We can therefore see how much time is needed for trees we see every day to grow to their height.
